Installation
Prerequisites
- Git, used to capture branch, commit, and changed files
- Rust, version 1.85 or later (rustup.rs), only if you build from source
Prebuilt Binary
Download the archive for your platform from thelatest release, extract it, and put pas-agent (pas-agent.exe on Windows) somewhere on your PATH. Builds are published for Linux (x86_64, arm64), macOS (Apple Silicon, Intel), and Windows (x86_64), with a SHA256SUMS file to verify them.
Install with Cargo
Install directly from the Git repository:
cargo install --git https://github.com/gfirik/pas-agent pas-agent-cliThis installs a binary named pas-agent into ~/.cargo/bin.
From a Local Clone
git clone https://github.com/gfirik/pas-agent.git
cd pas-agent
cargo install --path crates/pas-agent-cliVerify Installation
$ pas-agent --version
pas-agent 0.2.1The current release is v0.2.1.
Platform Support
PAS-Agent is plain Rust with no platform-specific code, and it calls thegit executable on your PATH.
The test suite runs in CI on Linux, macOS, and Windows for every change. The few tests that need Unix symlinks (exporting into a symlinked CLAUDE.md) run on Linux and macOS only, so symlink handling on Windows is untested.
Before a release is published, each prebuilt binary is run once on a CI machine (--version plus a short init, checkpoint, status, and export session). The Linux arm64 binary runs on an arm64 runner. The macOS Intel binary runs under Rosetta on an Apple Silicon runner, not on Intel hardware. The regular CI test suite covers Linux x86_64, macOS on Apple Silicon, and Windows x86_64.
